This memorial website was created to remember Dr. James Milton Jennings, our dearest father, husband, colleague and friend who was born on September 29, 1955 and passed away on October 27, 2015. He was the Pastor of the Church of God of Forrest City, AR and the Cynthia Cook Sandefur Odyssey Professor of Education and History at Hendrix College of Conway, AR, where he was the past Chairperson of the Education Department. Daddy, James, Pastor Jennings, Dr. Jennings... you will live forever in our memories and hearts. Amen.

We would like to share details below regarding two opportunities to contribute to the memory of Dr. James Jennings:

(1) an endowed scholarship in perpetuity at Hendrix College to support students from the Delta region of Arkansas and to continue the work he started so many years ago. Checks should be addressed to Hendrix College with the "Dr. James Jennings Hendrix Aspire Scholarship" in the memo line and mailed to Rev. (2) contributions to Mafunzo, a community- and faith-based initiative founded by Dr. Jennings to provide leadership and values training to young African-American boys with the goal of nurturing positive self-image, academic excellence, Christian principles, and life skills.
